FBI agent blasts Twitter's "gross subservience" in Twitter files

MATT TAIBBI, DAILY MAIL

An FBI agent has slammed Twitter ‘s ‘gross subservience’ to the agency and said other firms were ‘totally adversarial’ when asked to hand over customers’ details.

The current agent, who has not been named, revealed Bureau workers would get enraged when companies such as T-Mobile refused to cooperate.

They also said staff were very careful with how they phrased requests amid fears their messages to top businesses would get leaked.

Their comments, which were reported by journalist Matt Taibbi, come after he released the latest batch of ‘Twitter Files’.

Matt Taibbi on X (formerly Twitter): “”I feel like that’s the default position. People used to get mad about that in the Bureau, but – they’re supposed to represent their clients and their customers. Why in the hell would you expect them to make it easy on you? Do the right thing. Do it the right way.” / X”
