Mmesoma Nwabuzor, a Nigerian man now based in Indonesia, has been accused of defiling and impregnating 15-year-old Ngozi Maduka (not real name) in August 2022.
Sources told FIJ Nwabuzor lured Maduka, his neighbour’s ward, to a Lagos apartment he was residing in on August 4, raped her and gave her a drug afterwards. He travelled four days after.
Eunice Kalu, Maduka’s guardian, told FIJ she only learnt of the incident in early December when a friend of hers alerted her to changes in Maduka’s body.
“Someone said she was looking fat, and I thought it was because we were feeding her well, but they advised we take her for tests,” Kalu told FIJ. “We took her to the hospital on December 5, and it was confirmed that she was pregnant. I asked her who impregnated her and she said it was Nwabuzor. But he has travelled now.”
Kalu said she did not know Nwabuzor personally but was introduced to him by her neighbour and colleague whom he had come to stay with until it was time for his trip to Indonesia.
“I don’t know him and can’t remember clearly what he looks like,” Kalu told FIJ. “I work in a school, and there is this teacher who stays near my house. She brought the boy and said he was from her village and would stay with her until he traveled to Indonesia.
