Ukrainians have been urged to take shelter today amid fears of a “massive attack”, as several rounds of Russian missile strikes hit the capital this morning.
Air raid sirens rang out in Kyiv as explosions went off in the Dniprovskiy district and critical infrastructure was damaged in the strike, officials reported today.
“Missile attack on critical infrastructure facilities” in Kyiv, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, the deputy head of presidency said on Telegram.
The governor of the central Cherkasy region warned Ukrainians that Russia could launch a massive missile strike later on Saturday and urged residents to take shelter during air raid sirens.
Seventeen Russian Tupolev bombers – with missile platforms – have allegedly taken off from their air bases.
It came as Russia said on Friday that its forces had taken control of the war-scarred town of Soledar in east Ukraine, its first claim of victory in months of battlefield setbacks…
