Klopp aims dig at Chelsea spending and says Liverpool 'solve problems differently'

CONNOR ANDREWS FROM TALKSPORT

Jurgen Klopp has said that Chelsea ‘solve problems differently to us’ amid their rival’s incredible spending spree.

Following the arrival of billionaire new owner Todd Boehly, the Blues have followed up their big spending summer with just as blockbuster a January window.

After spending almost £300million in the summer, their winter outlay may not end up far off, with Mykhaylo Mudryk secured for £88m, while reports claim Chelsea are paying £11m just to have Joao Felix for six months.

That’s a contrast to their Premier League opponents at the weekend, Liverpool, who have purchased Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven for £37m.

When asked about the Mudryk signing, Klopp enthused about the Ukrainian, while mentioning Chelsea’s problem solving.

“Good player, a really good player,” he said. “Obviously he played an incredible Champions League campaign with his former club.

“Speed, technique, goals, combines a lot, so having him on one wing and, for example, Joao Felix on the other – interesting.

“So Chelsea obviously sorts the problems differently to us, so let’s see.”
