FOOTBALL LONDON
Graham Potter has made two changes to his Chelsea side for this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
Chelsea take on the Foxes following back-to-back victories over Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund. That has eased the pressure on head coach Graham Potter, but there can be no further setbacks as the Blues attempt to build momentum ahead of the international break.
Kepa Arrizabalaga continues in goal for the Blues; Edouard Mendy remains absent after undergoing surgery on a fractured finger in January. The back three remains the same as on Tuesday night against Dortmund. Wesley Fofana is on the right; Kalidou Koulibaly in the centre; Marc Cucurella on the left.
There is no Reece James in the squad due to illness. His place at right wing-back is taken by Ruben Loftus-Cheek. On the opposite flank is Ben Chilwell, who has looked back to his best after a testing 14 months in which he suffered an ACL injury and a hamstring issue.
Potter has opted to continue with the midfield pairing of Enzo Fernandez and Mateo Kovacic. The Croatian midfielder captains Chelsea once again in the absence of Thiago Silva.
Kai Havertz produced his best performance of the season in midweek and so it is no surprise he continues to lead the Chelsea attack. He will be supported by Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk, who comes into the attack to replace the injured Raheem Sterling.
Chelsea: Kepa; Fofana, Koulibaly, Cucurella; Loftus-Cheek, Fernandez, Kovacic, Chilwell; Mudryk, Havertz, Felix
Chelsea substitutes: Bettinelli, Badiashile, Chalobah, Chukwuemeka, Gallagher, Zakaria, Madueke, Pulisic, Ziyech
