Nigeria would emerge one of greatest world economies, says Anglican Bishop

GUARDIAN

The Bishop of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Kwara Diocese, Rt Rev. Sunday Adewole, said, yesterday, in Ilorin, that Nigeria would soon emerge one of the greatest world economies.

Adewole said this during Easter service at the Cathedral of Saint Barnabas Anglican Church, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, Kwara State, that despite current economic doldrums in Nigeria, better and brighter days are ahead of the nation and its people. He said:  “We should be hopeful in a seeming hopeless situation, because the Lord is there; He has the ability to turn things around for good.”

On the aftermath of the 2023 general elections, he said: “Nobody can come to power except the Lord puts him there. If we want to seek redress, we should go the legal way; we should not incite people; we should follow the law and then hope on the lord.”

Speaking on the essence of Easter festivities, Bishop Adewole said: “Easter is commemoration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today, Jesus rose to defeat Satan and to open the gate of eternity for believers; today is important, because if there is no resurrection, there will be no Christianity. He rose that we may have confidence that even after this world there will be place in the Kingdom.” Some of the faithful also expressed delight on the celebration of Easter and hope for better days ahead.
