Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has faulted some signings made by Chelsea in the last couple of transfer windows.
The Blues spent about six hundred million pounds bringing in new players during just two transfer windows under Todd Boehly.
They have a deal in place to sign RB Leipzig forward, Christopher Nkunku in a deal worth £53 million.
Kunku scored 35 goals in all competitions last season and has scored 17 in all competitions this season.
However, the Frenchman has not been playing as a traditional striker and for this reason, Ferdinand does not feel convinced he is the answer to Chelsea’s lack of goals.
“They’ve got Nkunku coming in the summer, but again he’s not an out-and-out number nine,” he said on BT Sport.
“He’s coming up as a young player coming off the wide areas, or playing as a 10 in a free role behind the striker. So the balance in the squad isn’t there.”
