Viewers of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa were delighted as the first of the stars threw themselves off a huge cliff as the series opened on Monday night.
Television presenter Carol Vorderman, 62, Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo, 30, and former boxer Amir Khan, 36, were challenged to walk off a terrifyingly-high platform in a bid to win food for camp during the series premiere.
After arriving in Kruger National Park, the found a tape recorder with a voice message from hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, explaining that they would immediately face their first task with the hope of winning a star, which would equate to a meal, for the camp.
The nervous threesome learned that would individually face a staggering 50m drop over the edge of an imposing mountain.
Once they’d plummeted off the edge, they had to locate and remember a numbered code until they are hoisted back up to the top.
