JUST IN: Kaduna LP dissociates self from Apapa-faction, suspends three

The crisis rocking the Labour Party has blown up as the Kaduna State chapter on Saturday dissociated itself from the Lamidi Apapa-faction of the party.

The party also suspended three of its chieftains for anti-party activity.

Rising from a State Executive Council emergency meeting in Kaduna, the party identified those suspended to include the party deputy governorship candidate in the last poll, Hon Bashir Idris Aliyu, its senatorial candidate, Michael Ayuba Auta, and another chieftain, Ibrahim Sidi Bamali.

An eight-point communique read out to newsmen shortly after the SEC meeting by the party’s Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idris, said those suspended, attended the Bauchi National Executive Council meeting of the factional chairman of the party, Lamidi Apapa.
