FOOTBALL LONDON
Harry Kane has continued to set new goal scoring landmarks with his goal for Tottenham against Crystal Palace moving him above Wayne Rooney in the all-time Premier League goal scoring charts.
The 29-year-old netted his 209th goal in England’s top flight with a powerful downward header from a Pedro Porro cross that flew beyond Sam Johnstone in the Palace goal.
In 2023, a goal against Manchester City made him Spurs’ all-time record goal scorer and a few months later he became England’s leading scorer, also overtaking Rooney with a penalty against Italy.
Kane equalled Rooney’s tally with a consolation goal in the 6-1 drubbing to Newcastle and with his latest strike, Alan Shearer is now the only man to have more Premier League goals than Kane. He is some way ahead still on 260.
