The former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has debunked a statement by a member of the House of Representatives, Aminu Goro, alleging that there was a plan to de-register the Academic Staff Union of Universities under the immediate past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Ngige, who served as the Minister of Labour and Employment throughout the eight years of the Buhari administration described the statement made by Goro as a pack of lies and fabrications.
In his speech at the valedictory session of the 9th House, the lawmaker narrated how the outgoing Speaker of the House and new Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, saved ASUU from proscription under Buhari.
But, reacting through his media office, Ngige described Goro’s narration as a cock and bull story, saying no such thing happened under the Buhari government.
