Demolition of ‘Ganduje’s structures’ will continue, Kano govt. insists

Kano Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, reiterated the government’s commitment to continue with the ongoing demolition of illegal structures, initiated by the previous administration during a meeting with the Association of Progressives from Tarauni Local Government Area at the Government House on Thursday.

The administration of Kano governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has said it will not stop its ongoing destruction of structures approved for construction by the government of his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje, despite criticisms that have trailed the action.

Kano Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, reiterated the government’s commitment to continue with the ongoing demolition of illegal structures, initiated by the previous administration during a meeting with the Association of Progressives from Tarauni Local Government Area at the Government House on Thursday.

The Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and restoring order in the urban areas of the state.

According to him, demolition of the structures became necessary so as to ensure sustainable urban development and protect the interests of the general public.

He further expressed concern over the negative impact of unregulated structures on physical infrastructure, drainage systems, and public safety.

The Deputy Governor highlighted, “how public assets were sold by the previous administration for personal gain, without considering the consequences on the community.”
