Juventus have reportedly joined the race for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund as they prepare to sanction the potential sale of Dusan Vlahovic to Chelsea. The Old Lady are preparing to make big changes to their squad this summer and the Serbian frontman has been identified by club chiefs as a player that can generate significant cash alongside winger Federico Chiesa.
Vlahovic joined Juventus in January 2022 but now he is being tracked by the Blues as they seek to sign a new frontman for Mauricio Pochettino.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport suggest Juve are ready to reach an agreement over a sale providing their £69million valuation is met and should that happen, Hojlund is the man they want to bring in.
It’s been well documented that United are in the hunt for the young Dane, who put his name up in lights last season with his sparkling form for both club and country.
Hojlund is widely regarded as one of Europe’s hottest young strikers but it now seems United face competition in the race for his signature.
The report also suggests Chelsea are ‘pushing hard’ to sign Vlahovic as the ex-Fiorentina man has slowly worked his way towards the top of their summer shortlist.
Yet Juventus are likely to drive a hard bargain for the 23-year-old despite the fact they are ready to sell Vlahovic.
Meanwhile, Atalanta are looking for £40m for Hojlund and with United currently reluctant to match that asking price, Juventus are now threatening to land the 20-year-old.
United have had a tough time trying to land a new marquee striker this summer for Erik ten Hag.
