Although Mr Falana did not categorically name anyone, several politicians have been meeting with Mr Tinubu at the Aso Villa since he emerged as president.

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has asked President Bola Tinubu to stop receiving those with corruption cases in the Aso villa.

Mr Falana said welcoming those with corruption cases at the Aso Rock would send a wrong signal to the international community in the fight against corruption.

“Some of those who are going in and out of the villa are standing trial for looting the treasury of this country,” said the activist. “So, wrong signals must not be sent to our people and the international community.”

The renowned lawyer spoke at the 60th anniversary of the call to the bar of eminent lawyer, Afe Babalola, held in Ado Ekiti.

Although Mr Falana did not categorically name anyone, several politicians, including members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition parties, have met with Mr Tinubu at the Aso Villa since he emerged as president.

The senior lawyer insisted that some of those visiting the president at the villa had been charged to court by various anti-graft agencies.

He added, “I’m urging the president to lead an anti-corruption crusade so that the country – the largest concentration of black people on earth, can take its rightful place in the committee of nations.

“Highly-placed public officers steal money meant for building hospitals, and people are dying on our roads.”
