APC slams Adeleke for appointing nephew 'who has never worked' as commissioner

Governor Ademola Adeleke has come under criticisms of the Osun State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC and a civil society group for appointing his family members of commissioners in his recently constituted cabinet.

The APC slammed the Governor for appointing his nephew, Tunji who, according to the party, has never worked since he graduated from university two years ago as commissioner for local government.

APC said Tunji Adeleke Jnr was a 2021 graduate of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, who was going about in dreadlocks before his appointment as commissioners, in a statement issued in Osogbo on Friday signed by its state Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal.

The party described the appointment of Adeleke (Jnr) as Chairman of Osun Local Government Service Commission as a clear case of nepotism.

The party said, “A boy who has never worked before, who goes about in dreadlock, is the person that Adeleke in his estimation appointed to direct the affairs of our Osun State local government service commission.”

Also, a civil society group, Centre for Public Accountability in a statement by its Programme Officer of the group, Ayo Ologun, slammed Adeleke for neglecting qualified people in the state to appoint his unqualified family members as commissioners.

“In a state like Osun where there is a plethora of capable hands and individuals who have excelled in their various fields of endeavours, the governor chose to appoint himself as the Commissioner for Works, his late brother’s wife, Mrs Folashade Adeleke as Commissioner for Federal Matters, his nephew who managed to graduate in 2021 from the family’s university (Adeleke University, Ede) after 10 years in school spanning various institutions as Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission…
