Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness has criticized Manchester United’s latest signing Andre Onana.
Souness said Onana gives coaches several heart attacks, adding that the Cameroonian goalkeeper is extremely casual with the ball on his feet when the opponents are closing him down.
He also questioned whether Onana, who joined Man United from Inter Milan, is an ‘upgrade’ on David de Gea.
“In terms of pure goalkeeping and using your hands, let’s see if [Andre] Onana is an upgrade on De Gea – I am not sure,” Souness told the Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey.
“David de Gea in his first four or five seasons at Manchester United won the Player of the Year. He is not top-notch with his feet either and obviously, Erik ten Hag wants someone who is.
“Andre Onana is a guy who will give coaches several heart attacks when he’s got the ball at his feet. He is extremely casual when people are closing him down.
