Iranian Minister sacked over gay sex video in scandal rocking country

An official from the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has been dismissed following the release of a video allegedly showing him engaging in same-sex intercourse.

According to the Iranian Wire, Reza Saghati, the director-general of the government institute in northern Gilan province, became front and center of a scandal when the video was shared on the Radio Gilan Telegram channel.

The video, purportedly recorded within the premises of the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance, caught the attention of the public and led to Saghati’s dismissal. 

The Gil Khabar news site confirmed that Saghati was removed from office “due to the scandals.” 

In response to the allegations, the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance released a statement indicating that their Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance had ordered a thorough investigation involving security and judicial authorities immediately after Saghati was accused.

Peyman Behbodi, the manager of Gilan Radio’s Telegram channel, reported that agents from Gilan’s Intelligence Department have also arrested Saghati’s sister and nieces…
