Heartbreaking footage has revealed the aftermath of the horror speedboat crash that killed Bloomsbury USA president Adrienne Vaughan on the Amalfi coast on Thursday.
Authorities were seen hoisting the Gozzo Sorrentini vessel out of the water, some time after its ‘drunk’ skipper slammed the boat into the side of a 130-foot ship that was hosting a wedding party.
Dozens of locals gathered to watch the mangled speedboat’s return to the shore, and significant damage could be seen along its left hand side. A large hole had opened up where the two ships collided, and the metal frame at the front of the motorboat was bent by the impact.
Vaughan, 45, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by the wedding yacht’s propellers, while her husband underwent surgery on a dislocated shoulder Thursday evening and her children were treated for shock.
