Daily Express

Bosses and landlords who help illegal migrants work and live in Britain are set to be hit with much steeper fines as the government attempts to dispel the UK’s reputation as a “soft touch” on illegal migration, according to the Daily Express. 

Daily Mirror

The Daily Mirror reports that 74% of Britons support calls for tougher sentences for the owners of dangerous and out-of-control dogs, according to a poll conducted by the paper.

The Times

The government is looking at Ascension Island in the South Atlantic as an alternative to Rwanda as a place to send migrants who illegally enter Britain. The British Overseas Territory is 4,000 miles away from the UK.

The Guardian reports that MPs have allegedly earned £10m from second jobs over the past year.

Businesses that hire illegal migrants are set to face drastically increased fines according to The Daily Telegraph, with the paper reporting they’re trebling to a maximum of £60,000 per illegal employee.

Ministers are drawing up plans to fly migrants who illegally enter Britain to the British Overseas Territory of Ascension Island in the South Atlantic if the government’s current plan to send them to Rwanda fails, according to the Daily Mail.

The Daily Star leads on comments from former Star Trek actor William Shatner dismissing claims that aliens had visited planet Earth. The paper claims to know that Mr Shatner, who played Captain James T Kirk in the sci-fi show, is incorrect.
