After Umahi’s Channels TV interview, Nigerians list federal roads needing attention

CHANNELS TV

Nigerians from several parts of the country have been sending in messages to the Minister of Works Mr. Dave Umahi, drawing his attention to the condition of federal roads in their areas.

The development comes in the wake of Umahi’s Thursday appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily where he spoke about his plans for the ministry of works under his leadership.

Umahi, a former governor of Ebonyi State, says under his supervision, the country’s roads will be constructed to last longer.

During the show, he told Nigerians to draw his attention to federal roads needing attention in their area.

Many of them later sent messages to Channels Television about the state of such roads in their area as seen below:

Enugu-PH Road – Okey

Dear Sunrise Daily Team,

You guys are doing a great job. Please help ask the Honourable minister about the Aba to PH axis of Enugu-PH that the contractor abandoned. Any plan for it?

Trailer Park, East-West Road

Congratulations Sir on your recent appointment.

Sir, please remember the Eleme junction to Trailer Park axis of the East-West road. Thank you, Sir.

Ayoola Ogunkanmi
Mr. Minister can also decide to construct kerbs on the levels of the existing asphalt roads. It will go a long way to preserve those roads. Abuja roads are good examples. They are still existing after 40 years and in good shape

Complain On Benue Road – Ogwuche Ezekiel Ali

Please, tell Mr. Minister to visit the road that connects ANKPA LG through ONYAGEDE in OHIMINI LG to OTUKPO LG of Benue state. very short pass for those from the northern part of the country to Lagos state

Badagry Road Under Construction – Olatunde Sefiu

The contractor handling Badagry has stopped work on the construction of the road. What are you doing to bring the contractor back to the site?

East-West Road

The East-West Road is supposed the most important road in Nigeria because it links the biggest oil revenue-generating states of Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, and Delta. The people of the Niger Delta view the road as the number one parameter to access the success or failure of any federal government The new government should not follow the failure of past governments in this regard.

ABA PORTHARCOURT HIGHWAY – Felix Nwangwa

May I request the Honourable Minister to quickly intervene and rescue the Aba Portharcourt end of the Enugu/Ph Expressway? That portion of the road has been in terrible shape for over a decade and the people on that axis are suffering.

Jason Jerry – North-East Link Road

There is a lot of work to cover the honourable Minister. One is the affected road links commuters from other parts of the country to the North-East states of Gombe, Adamawa, Taraba, and parts of Borno through Bauchi state. Every rainy season motorists get stranded. Kindly schedule a tour to see it yourself.
God bless Nigeria.
