‘Don’t use substandard materials’ – Kwara warns contractors

The Kwara State government has warned contractors handling various water projects in the state against the use of substandard materials and delays in the completion of the projects.

Commissioner for Water Resources Usman Yunusa Lade handed down the warning during his meeting with contractors and consultants handling various water projects in the state.

Lade, who disclosed that the ministry will soon constitute a committee to assess the standard and quality of work done at the various sites of ongoing projects in the state, said: “Any contractor(s) discovered not to deliver good work or where the job done does not commensurate with the money received will not receive additional pay, and we are going to blacklist them and publish their names accordingly.”
