Federico Valverde has hinted that he could be open to a move to Liverpool should he ever want to leave Real Madrid.
The Uruguayan was linked with a move to Anfield in the summer with the Reds keen to add to their midfield options. They could not thrash out a deal with the Spanish giants and instead signed Wataru Endo from Stuttgart.
However, a switch to Merseyside might not be completely off the table. Talking to reporters after the weekend’s win over Real Sociedad, Valverde hinted that whilst he is currently happy with Real Madrid, the Premier League could be a future destination should he decide to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
Asked about the summer interest in him, he replied: “Premier League offers? I have the possibility of playing for Real. The day I don’t feel like that, I will probably look for another solution or Real itself will look for one for me.”
Valverde could actually have been a Premier League player earlier in his career. He had previously revealed that he was on trial with North London side Arsena l.
Speaking about his time with the Gunners, the 25-year-old hailed Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez for his assistance. He said: “I have always been grateful to him [Sanchez].
