Abubakar Mustapha Danraka, a former chief pharmacist at the National Hospital in Abuja, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Abuja high court for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy.

Danraka, an indigene of Kaduna State, committed the crime three years ago.

At the time he committed the crime, the pharmacist was also an Imam at a mosque in Spring Valley Estate, his area of residence in Abuja.

He reportedly assaulted the minor at his residence.

According to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) on Tuesday, the court had found Danraka guilty of sodomy before handing him the life sentence.

COMMITTED THE CRIME, GOT ARRESTED IN 2020

Checks by FIJ revealed that Danraka had anal sexual intercourse with the 12-year-old boy on March 21, 2020, at his Abuja residence.

NAPTIP subsequently released a statement via its official Facebook page on April 7, 2020, revealing that the pharmacist was 42 years old at the time he committed the crime.

It was also reported that the underaged victim had gone to check on his friend who happened to be Danraka’s neighbour when he was sexually assaulted.
