Erik ten Hag has been haded a rare positive on the injury front as all signs suggest Mason Mount is edging ever closer to a return to first-team action ahead of two games against Crystal Palace this week

Manchester United summer signing Mason Mount appears to be on the verge of a return to first-team action after he trained with the squad ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Crystal Palace.
The England international arrived at Old Trafford from Chelsea in July for an initial fee of £55m, but has spent much of his Red Devils career so far sidelined with injury. Mount has not lined up for Erik ten Hag’s side since the second game of the league season, which came in the form of a 2-0 defeat away at Tottenham.
With that being said, Mount’s return could finally be upon us after the 24-year-old was pictured in training as United gear up to play the Eagles twice in four days. The first comes at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup, before Roy Hodgson’s men make the trip a second time for Saturday’s league meeting.
Mount looked in high spirits, smiling as he was put through his paces along with the rest of his United colleagues. The ex-Blues favourite is not the only injury concern Ten Hag has had to deal with, as a number of Red Devils players have been sidelined in recent weeks.
