Chairman, Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, has enjoined Muslims across the country to use the period of Eid-el-Moulud to pray for the country and its leaders.
Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, said this on Wednesday.
Eid-el-Moulud marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Alli, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, noted that it is important for Muslims to use this opportunity to pray for Nigeria and its leaders so that they can be guided aright and take actions that will promote the peace, unity, and progress of the country.
The lawmaker, while speaking further, urged them to reflect on the teachings of the Holy Prophet and imbibe his exemplary qualities of compassion and selflessness towards one another.
