Police in Auburn, Washington, have released home security footage showing three masked invaders attempting to break into a house before being shot at by the homeowner.
The three men show up at the front door before attempting to kick it down, with one of them identifying himself as “Seattle Police”.
The men shoulder and kick the door to no avail, taking it in turns to try and break in. All three of them are holding guns.
As the third man attempts to ram into the front door, the sound of gunshot emerges from inside the house.
One of the shots smashes through the front door window as he is trying to break it down, giving him a fright.
He then falls to the floor, before jumping back up and sprinting away with his two accomplices as repeated gunshots from inside the house continue.
The Auburn Police Department said that at about 2 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a home over reports of a non-injury shooting.
Auburn is located nearly 30 miles south of Seattle and 15 miles northeast of Tacoma.
“When officers arrived at the scene, a resident at the address reported an attempted burglary at their home involving three suspects,” the police department said in a press release.
No arrests have been made. Police are calling on the public to come forward with any tips on the case or if they can identify the suspects.
