Donald Trump got the biggest cheer of the night at UFC 295.
The 45th U.S. president entered Madison Square Garden in New York just moments before the UFC’s 30th-anniversary show main card got underway.
Trump’s entrance was beamed onto the big screen and his presence was greeted by a massive roar of cheers from those inside the venue.
The round of applause continued as he made his way to his seat before a chant of ‘USA’ erupted when he finally sat down alongside UFC CEO Dana White and musician Kid Rock to take in his latest MMA event.
A few minutes later, several celebrities and fighters featured on the Megatron before Trump mouthed the words ‘Thank you’ when his second cameo was greeted with deafening support.
UFC 290 was the last time he attended a show run by his long-time friend.
The 77-year-old got a similar reaction when his grand arrival was broadcast to fans inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to watch Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez in a featherweight unification fight.
It was the same story at UFC 287 in April. Trump’s presence was met by a huge ovation from the UFC fans before he took his cageside seat alongside boxing legend Mike Tyson.
The UFC boss, who spoke for Trump at the Republican National Convention in 2020, previously explained his relationship with the divisive reality TV star-turned-politician.
“This guy has been so good to me it’s unexplainable,” White told Tucker Carlson while recalling his speech for Trump.
“He’s been a very good friend to me since the day I met him. When we bought this company it had such a bad stigma attached to it and the sport that we couldn’t even get into venues, they didn’t want us.
“Donald Trump saw that this thing could possibly be big, plus he’s a sports guy who loves sports, and he offered us to come do the event at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.
“He cut us a very fair deal and we went down there and did two events with him where he showed up for the first fight and stayed until the last fight.
“Imagine back then; Trump brand is way up, UFC brand is way down, but he took us in, and he was great.
