100 MOST OUTSTANDING NIGERIANS IN THE DIASPORA…

OKONJO-IWEALA, HUSBAND, FOUR CHILDREN MAKE LIST OF ‘EXEMPLARS

The Director General of the World Trade Centre (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, recorded another milestone as she, her husband, and all four children made the prestigious list of Exemplars: 100 Most Outstanding Nigerians in the Diaspora”, a biographical compendium that profiles Nigerians with remarkable professional accomplishments.

In a release made available to newsmen, the publishers, Profiles & Biographies, said this is a trailblazing feat by any family in the history of biographical compendia.

Her husband, Dr Ikemba Iweala, is an outstanding medical doctor and chairman of the IKE Foundation for Autism. Her son, Dr. Uchechi Iweala is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon. Another son, Uzodinma Iweala is an award-winning writer, filmmaker, and medical doctor.

As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Africa Centre, he is dedicated to promoting a new narrative about Africa and its diaspora. Okechukwu Warigbo Iweala is the third child of the family and is a songwriter and singer. He is a graduate Harvard university. He is the author of From the Within: Multi Verses from My Actuality, a 2021 book published by Nielsen Bookdata.

Her only daughter, Onyinye I. Iweala, M.D., Ph.D. is an allergist and immunologist certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology Allergy, and Immunology at the University of North Carolina (UNC)-Chapel Hill.

Each of them is listed in recognition and acknowledgment of their individual accomplishments

Exemplars: 100 Most Outstanding Nigerians in the Diaspora is the most up to date, qualitative, and authoritative biographical compendium on outstanding Nigerians in the Diaspora.

Among other prominent Nigerians in the Diaspora listed in the compendium are the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Amina Mohammed, An Assistant Director-General at the WHO, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu; renown writer, Chimamanda Adichie, US Deputy Secretary of Treasury, Wally Adeyemo; Kemi Badenoch, UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade and President of the Board of Trade and Minister for Women and Equalities; among others.

The compendium is aimed at building a comprehensive biographical database of outstanding Nigerians in the diasporas to serve as a go-to reference document for government, multilateral agencies and researchers seeking for biographical information on outstanding Nigerians in the Diaspora.

It is also intended to compliment government’s efforts to accommodate the desire of Nigeria Diaspora community to contribute to the development of our beloved country, and to facilitate the offering of their competencies, expertise and experience.

In a statement jointly signed by the Co-editors, Kammonke Abam, Dr. Badewa Adejugba-Williams, Obasewotta Kammonke, and Koblohobase Kammonke, the compendium would serve as a reference guide on the skills database of Nigerians in the Diaspora.
