Nigerians bought American market – Ghanaian music executive claims

THE WILL NEWS

Ghanaian music executive, Emmanuel Barnes, popularly known as Mr Logic, has claimed that Nigerian singers were able to get quite a few Grammy nominations because they bought the American market.

In a recent interview on Hitz FM, Mr Logic stirred up a controversy, claiming that Nigerian artistes’ Grammy nominations were attributed to their financial influence, asserting that they “bought” the American market.

During the interview, Mr Logic argued that although some Ghanaian singers surpass their Nigerian counterparts in talent, they remain overshadowed due to the louder presence of Nigerian artistes. he specifically pointed out that Ghanaian artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, who puts in more efforts to secure a spot in the Grammy nominations, fell short, attributing this to the dominance of Nigerians in the American music industry.

Mr Logic suggested that the influence of money plays a significant role in the recognition received by Nigerian artistes, emphasising the idea that financial power has propelled them to the forefront of the American market.
