Registrar, others escape fire outbreak in Kwara Shariah court

The Chief Registrar of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Hajia Hassanat Mustapha, has escaped a fire incident on the court premises.

Also involved in the incident were her personal assistant and a driver of an 18-seater bus with registration number SCA 13 SJ belonging to the court.

The incident, our correspondent gathered, caused a huge scare which resulted in pandemonium as the staff made frantic attempt to quench the inferno which gutted the bus.

A source, who confided in Daily Trust, said, “The fire started from the battery head of the bus. The Chief Registrar, her aide and the bus driver jumped out of the vehicle on the court premises.

“About 25 staff of the court, attracted by the noise, rushed out to save the situation with fire extinguishers from their cars and that of the court.

“Their saving grace was Almighty Allah. If not that they forgot something that made them come back to the office, it would have been a calamity if it had happened on motion,” the source added…
