Invest in policies, strategies to end gender-based violence in Nigeria – NCWS tells FG

The President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Hajia Lami Adamu Lau, has appealed to the federal government to invest in policies and strategies that will bring an end to gender-based violence in Nigeria.

She made the appeal on Saturday in Abuja during an event to commemorate the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.

Lau explained that the council recognised the critical role that investments play in preventing violence, stressing that by supporting education, awareness campaigns, community engagement, and the development of support systems, an environment that fosters equality can be created.

Invest to prevent violence against women and girls,” serves as a call to the federal government, private stakeholders, and community leaders to prioritize the allocation of resources and be intentional about creating gender-friendly budgets towards funding transformational…
