The President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Hajia Lami Adamu Lau, has appealed to the federal government to invest in policies and strategies that will bring an end to gender-based violence in Nigeria.
She made the appeal on Saturday in Abuja during an event to commemorate the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.
Lau explained that the council recognised the critical role that investments play in preventing violence, stressing that by supporting education, awareness campaigns, community engagement, and the development of support systems, an environment that fosters equality can be created.
