VIA THE BLAZE:
A car slammed into a parked SUV that was part of President Joe Biden’s motorcade. The eye-opening situation occurred near Biden’s campaign headquarters in Delaware, and was caught on video.
Secret Service spokesperson Steve Kopek told CNN in a statement, “Today, at approximately 8:09 p.m., a Secret Service vehicle securing the President’s motorcade route was struck by another vehicle in Wilmington, DE. There was no protective interest associated with this event and the President’s motorcade departed without incident.”
CNN is reporting that the crash was “unintentional” between the car and an SUV in Biden’s motorcade. News outlets have noted that it was rainy in Wilmington at the time of the car crash.
The car accident happened right outside of Biden’s campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware – where the president was greeting staffers.
The collision caused a loud bang, which caught the attention of President Biden, who appeared to be visually stunned by the commotion. Secret Service quickly escorted President Biden to his armored presidential vehicle. Secret Service also ensured first lady Jill Biden was secured inside the armored vehicle.
WCAU reported, “While Biden was walking from the campaign office to his waiting armored SUV, a sedan hit a U.S. Secret Service vehicle that was being used to close off intersections near the headquarters for the president’s departure. The sedan then tried to continue into a closed-off intersection, before Secret Service personnel surrounded the vehicle with weapons drawn and instructed the driver to put his hands up.”
The Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for a comment on the incident.
President Biden’s schedule for the remainder of the evening was not reportedly affected by the car crash into his motorcade.
