North Koreans are being forced to steal one another’s poo by Kim Jong-un after quotas were introduced on manure.
Every January, dump-demanding Kim asks his subjects to give him a load of poo in a feudalist faecal tax. This means citizens are often forced to store up their own hot loads to meet the quota and any who don’t could be set to face a brutal stint in the nation’s infamous prison camps.
Now, it has been reported that a North Korean defector living in the UK, Kim Joo-il, said that people were now so desperate to get hold of poo that they had started stealing each other’s.
He said: “North Korean residents collect manure – livestock faeces and human faeces – every year and give it to the government.
This is how to make natural fertiliser for farming. North Korea has a poor national economy, so there is a shortage of fertilisers. So the government provides quotas. Residents who fail to meet their personal quota will be subject to harsh investigation and punishment.
