A Brazilian man is under arrest after he allegedly murdered his wife and then took a selfie with her corpse and sent it to her friends and family.
José Torres, 39, stabbed Daniele Vieria, 34, at their home in the northeastern city of Itopororoca on Thursday.
Torres snapped a photo of him next to Vieria and texted it to the family.
He attempted to take his own life by stabbing himself, but paramedics rushed him to Mamanguape General Hospital, police chief Sylvio Rabelo said, according to Braxilian news outlet G1.
Vieria feared for her life and sent multiple messages the mother of her godchildren on Thursday.
One of the messages sent at 12:48am read, ‘Help me, he wants to kill me.’
However, her desperate cry for assistance went unanswered because the godmother of her son was sleeping.
She did not see the messages until about 5am and rushed to the home, where she found Vieria dead.
Rabelo said that Vieria had been assaulted by Torres on two occasions.
‘It culminated with this criminal act,’ he said.
Vieria leaves behind a 16-year-old son. DailyMail.com could not confirm if the son was from her relationship with Torres…
