Ajoke, a 300-level student at a private college in Abeokuta, Ogun State, tragically ended her life due to an unwanted pregnancy.
Identified as a student of Basic Medical Science, she consumed a poisonous substance suspected to be Sniper after battling depression exacerbated by her unaccredited course and the pregnancy. Her parents’ investment in her education added to her distress.
The college’s provost confirmed her suicide outside the campus premises, where she was rushed to a hospital but couldn’t be saved.
