Police Commissioner Husseini Gumel has praised the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kano chapter for their peaceful protest. Mr. Gumel expressed his appreciation while addressing journalists shortly after the protest in Kano on Tuesday.
He commended the demonstrators for their orderly conduct, describing the exercise as “seamless.” The commissioner highlighted the positive response from the police, other law enforcement agencies, and the general public towards the peaceful demonstration.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the “symbiotic manner” in which the event unfolded, emphasizing the harmony between the protesters and the authorities.
The protest, which began at the Kano Race Course, proceeded through Lodge Road and concluded at the Government House, where they were received by the Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa.
Kabiru Inuwa, the Kano chairman of NLC, reiterated the union’s unwavering dedication to the well-being of the people.
In a related development, the NLC called on Governor Abba Yusuf to urge President Bola Tinubu to address the populace’s grievances and alleviate their suffering.
