The House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) has extended an invitation to Central Bank Governor Yemi Cardoso, urging his attendance at a crucial meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 5. The invitation comes amidst concerns over leakages on the REMITA platform.
In a letter addressed to the CBN Governor titled “Investigation of Revenue Leakages Through REMITA Platform and Non-Compliance with Standard Operating Procedure and Other Allied Service Level Agreements 2023 (HR.373/11/2023),” the Committee’s Chairman, Hon. Bamidele Salam, expressed the imperative for Governor Cardoso’s presence to address pressing issues.
Highlighting the significance of the Governor’s absence in hindering the investigative process on revenue leakages through REMITA, Hon. Salam emphasized the necessity for his attendance to expedite resolution.
“You are strongly advised to take advantage of this invitation and appear before the Committee on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 10:00 am in Meeting Room 446, House of Representatives’ New Building, to respond to the issues that will arise during the hearing session,” stated Hon. Salam.
The Chairman further advised Governor Cardoso to bring along relevant officers acquainted with the matters at hand to facilitate comprehensive responses during the session.
The summons underscores the House Committee’s commitment to addressing challenges within the REMITA platform and ensuring accountability in revenue management processes.
