Dinky despot Kim Jong-un is sending North Korean defectors to labour camps close to ‘high risk’ nuclear power plants as punishment for their attempted escapes, insiders have claimed.
A one time defector said the leader of the hermit state is even offering to cut mandatory army service from 10 to five years for those people who choose to go and work in areas like the Punggye-ri nuclear test site.
People are also given opportunities to enroll at universities and are allowed to join the Workers’ Party of Korea, but residents realise the danger of being exposed to the high radiation levels.
“The levels of radiation at these places are so harmful that no one wants to go there. So the authorities are sending prisoners there to die,” a former Pyongyang resident in her 40s who defected in 2019 told South Korean authorities.
And as for those non prisoners encouraged to go to the sites, she added that “all the kids who serve there die within a couple of years.”
The Korea Herald reported that she said she decided to leave her country after learning the authorities were going to send her and her children to work at nuclear sites over her husband’s defection.
