Lagos state government has begun the removal of illegal structures around the Jakande Estate and Maiyegun axis of Ajah.
This action comes after relocation notices were issued to squatters residing in shanties in a bid to reclaim the coastal road alignment and improve the area’s appearance.
The Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources Commissioner, Tokunbo Wahab, made this known on his X handle on Sunday.
Sharing a video, he wrote: “Following the expiration of the relocation notice served on squatters in shanties built around the Jakande Estate and Maiyegun axis of Ajah, the Lagos State government will, today, commence the removal of the illegal structures to reclaim the coastal road alignment and restore the aesthetics of the area..”
