Terrorists struck again on Sunday night, targeting the Kajuru-Station community in Kaduna State, where they kidnapped 87 individuals.
Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, confirmed the harrowing incident, stating that the assailants also looted shops, seizing food items and valuables.
The attack occurred around 10 pm, adding to the rising wave of insecurity in the region. This assault follows closely on the heels of another abduction just two days prior, when 15 women and a man were taken from the Dogon-Noma community within the same local government area.
Kaduna’s Kajuru and Chikun LGAs have recently seen a surge in kidnapping incidents, heightening tensions among residents.
As of now, no communication has been established with the abducted villagers, leaving their fate uncertain.
Despite the escalating crisis, the affected community awaits increased security measures from the government to address the ongoing threat posed by terrorists.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, remained unavailable for comment at the time of reporting, leaving many questions unanswered amidst the growing concerns for safety and security in the region.
