Social Media Critic “Verydarkman” Released from Police Custody in Abuja Martins Otse, known as Verydarkman, has been released from police custody in Abuja, as confirmed by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, on Sunday.
“After five days of legal proceedings, we have successfully secured VDM’s release. Gratitude to everyone involved, particularly Sowore, Kefiano, and VDM’s exceptional legal team,” Adeyanju announced on X.
The 27-year-old, accused of cyberbullying, was detained, according to former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, who criticized the police for allegedly abusing their authority and colluding with influential figures to suppress dissent.
This marks the second arrest for the outspoken critic this year.
