The Federal Government of Nigeria has refuted claims made by U.S. lawmakers regarding the poor health of Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan and the conditions of Kuje prison where he is being held. Gambaryan was arrested in Nigeria on charges of tax evasion and other financial crimes related to Binance’s operations in the country.

The Nigerian government stated that assertions made by the U.S. lawmakers about Gambaryan’s lack of access to adequate medical care are “false” and emphasized that due process is being followed in the ongoing legal proceedings. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, assured that Binance and Gambaryan would have the opportunity to defend themselves against the charges in court.
