The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the permanent forfeiture of properties worth over N12 billion to the Federal Government of Nigeria. The properties in question include shops, apartments, lands, and other assets that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) suspected were acquired with proceeds of unlawful activities.
The court heard that two former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) staff members, Obayemi Oluwaseun Teben and Akomolafe Adebayo, allegedly used their positions to secure foreign exchange for companies in exchange for kickbacks.
