Is Biden sick? Debate sparks health concern thanks to ‘scratchy’ voice
The current US president’s voice has sparked questions about the state of his health from debate watchers
DAILY STAR
Joe Biden and Donald Trump are facing off in the first of two official presidential debates on tonight and American voters are keen to hear their views on a range of issues.
From immigration to abortion, several contentious issues are at the forefront of American voters’ minds, and many are keen to see how each candidate plans to address them.
There is one topic that is dominating the Twittersphere, though, and that is Joe Biden’s voice. Social media has erupted with accusations about the 81-year-old’s health after he appeared be talking in a particularly raspy way.
One user wrote: “Biden sounds like he’s got a cold. His voice is scratchy,” while a second chimed in: “What’s up with Biden’s voice?”
A third added: “Biden has bad phlegmy voice,” while a fourth scribed: “Biden’s voice sounds bad. Not a good sign.”
Both candidates are also older than any previous president – Trump recently turned 78, while Biden is set to turn 82 in November.
This will be their respective ages when one of them almost certainly reclaims or retains the Oval Office in January, and there have been concerns about both candidates’ cognitive abilities.
