NAF debunks helicopter crash report, confirms UAV mishap

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has refuted claims that one of its helicopters crashed in Tami village, Kaduna State, in the early hours of Monday.

Instead, a NAF Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) experienced a mishap after take-off for a mission near Rumji Village, about 15 km from the Base.

Since the vehicle was unmanned, there were no casualties on board or on the ground, and a preliminary investigation has commenced to ascertain the cause of the mishap.

The NAF has assured that this minor setback will not impinge on ongoing operations, and a team of Airforce personnel have secured the scene for emergency rescue operations and investigation.
