Bellingham cleared to play against Switzerland after receiving suspended ban and fine for gesture

England midfielder Jude Bellingham will be available to play in the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 quarter-final match against Switzerland on Saturday, according to recent reports. This news comes after UEFA handed Bellingham a one-match suspended ban and a fine of €30,000 for a gesture he made during England’s last-16 victory over Slovakia.

Bellingham, who claimed the gesture was an inside joke aimed at friends attending the game and not directed at the Slovakian coaching staff, took to Twitter after the incident to express his respect for the opposing team. Despite UEFA’s disciplinary action, the 21-year-old’s ban is suspended for a year, allowing him to participate in the upcoming match.
