Elon Musk has announced his commitment to support Donald Trump’s presidential campaign by contributing approximately $45 million per month to a newly formed super PAC called America PAC. This financial backing is intended to bolster Trump’s bid for the presidency in the upcoming election.
Elon Musk plans to donate around $45 million per month to a new political group backing ex-President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, according to a report.
The Tesla boss — who fully endorsed Trump in the wake of the weekend assassination attempt — is one of several tech moguls contributing to the America PAC, sources told the Wall Street Journal.
The group is reportedly focused on rallying support for Trump in swing states to counter ground covered by the Democrats through “get out the vote” campaigns, the newspaper reported.
Other backers include Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, former US ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband, Joe Craft, the chief executive of coal producer Alliance Resource Partners, the outlet reported.
America PAC was formed in Austin, Texas in May – where Musk’s electric car company Tesla is headquartered.
Musk, 53, has already donated a “sizeable amount” of money to America PAC, the total of which has not yet been disclosed.
