NLC president Joe Ajaero: ‘New Minimum wage accepted due to attached incentives

After meeting with President Bola Tinubu, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, revealed the reasons why the Organised Labour accepted the proposed minimum wage of N70,000.

According to Ajaero, the acceptance was based not only on the financial incentives attached but also on the assurance of a review of the minimum wage every three years. This was a significant departure from previous practices and played a major role in convincing the Labour leaders to accept the offer.
