Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has advised Nigerians to pray for divine intervention amid economic hardship and not to resort to protest.
Governor Umar Namadi said there are other means Nigerians could use to show their grievances and not protest.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governor said this on Monday, in a meeting with leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), in the state.
Namadi said while citizens have the right to express their grievances and are at liberty to express them through protest under a democratic dispensation, it will not solve the problems.
He called for prayers and advised Nigerians to repent from their sins. He said Nigerians must seek forgiveness from God and call for his divine intervention.
