Trump campaign shifts to indoor venues amid safety fears

In a significant development, former President Donald Trump’s campaign has announced that it will no longer hold outdoor rallies, citing security concerns. This decision comes nearly two weeks after a failed assassination attempt on Trump’s life at an outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

According to sources familiar with the campaign’s operations, Trump will pivot to indoor venues to ensure better security measures. This move follows repeated warnings from the Secret Service, which expressed concerns over the safety of outdoor events.

The shift to indoor rallies coincides with the resignation of Kimberly Cheatle, the 27th director of the United States Secret Service. The agency had urged Trump to stop holding outdoor events due to the increased risk of security breaches and vulnerabilities.
